About RIT AICTE IDEA Lab:

Rajarambapu Institute of Technology, Islampur is proud to announce that the institute is selected to establish AICTE-IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Lab. AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) – an apex body under Mistry of Education, Govt. of India has decided to establish AICTE-IDEA Labs for encouraging students for application of science, technologies, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fundamentals towards enhanced hands-on experience, learning by doing and product visualization. In the first phase, 49 institutes in India are selected for the prestigious project.

 Under this scheme, the grant of Rs. 1.05 Crore is sanctioned in which Rajarambapu Institute of Technology received grant of Rs. 45 Lakhs from AICTE and the remaining amount of Rs. 62 lacs is raised with industry collaboration to establish RIT IDEA Lab.  RIT AICTE IDEA Lab is a common facility in the institution which will make engineering graduates more imaginative and creative, besides getting basic training in the 21st century skills like- critical thinking, problem-solving, research, collaboration, communication, lifelong learning etc. 

The RIT AICTE IDEA lab aims at developing critical thinking & complex problem-solving abilities among the students of the institute. The lab will also provide support to schools, polytechnic colleges, and engineering colleges in the vicinity.

MISSION:

1. To provide a multidisciplinary prototype and product development facility under one roof to students, researchers, faculty, startups, and industries. 
2. To provide hands-on training to students, researchers faculty, startups, and industries.
3. To provide consultancy services to outside stakeholders and generate revenue to become self-sustainable.
4. To improve the employability of students through experiential learning.
