About RIT: Rajarambapu Institute of Technology, Rajaramnagar (formerly known as College of Engineering, Sakharale) was started in 1983. Located near Islampur, 7 km away from Peth Naka off Pune -Bangalore highway. RIT has a green beautiful campus of 17 hectors and buildings on it measuring 49021 sq.m. RIT has emerged as a leading technological Institute in Western Maharashtra through its dedicated and disciplined approach to provide quality technical education over a period more than thirty years.

About Mechanical Department: Mechanical department is one of the oldest and largest department in the institute where academic curiosity and creativity flourish. Dedicated faculties encourage students to expand their perspectives and nurture their skills of critical thinking and communication. Faculty members of department undertake industry-sponsored research and consultancy project. Faculties and students have completed few research projects and patients. Well equipped labs help to solve problems related to vibration, tribology, mechatronics, experimental stress analysis and so on. Advanced machining lab helps to machine precise and accurate jobs. CAD/CAM/CAE labs help to solve different technical problems using the advanced software in design and manufacturing. Department has one UG and four PG courses namely design, production, heat power and CAD/CAM/CAE.

Industrial Consultancy:

Mechanical department is always interested in industrial problem-solving. Consulting activities often provide an opportunity to apply scholarly expertise to socially useful ends. They directly or indirectly contribute to the teaching and research of faculty.

Anybody from industry/ external agency can contact the institute to solve almost any type of problem or meet any type of need in almost any division of engineering, technology or science. Institute through its faculty, technical staff can handle such requests from industry or any external agency; such requests will come under the term consultancy in its broadest sense.

As an illustration, a list of some of the types of consultancy services that department offers are given below:
